Katie and Darryl had a beautiful wedding at Celebrations at the Reservoir. It has been so much fun to work with Katie, and I love how welcoming everyone was to us. Katie has such a warm personality and she just envelopes you right into the group…especially when she remembered to ask about our little baby. 🙂 Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from the day:I love the hanger…Okay, so this photo made me chuckle a bit. There was a bit of a divide among the guests because the big game was on…and I have to say that as a Hokie…I was pretty bummed that we lost!Love the florals and Darryl’s bow tie.Doesn’t Katie make a gorgeous bride?!Another fun little detail…instead of a guest book Darryl drew the tree…and the guests signed with their fingerprints.Congratulations to Katie and Darryl! I wish you many joyful years together. 🙂
We had a fun time photographing Allison and Preston’s wedding. The ladies got ready at Linden Row Inn which is where we met with them for some fun getting ready images:
Allison and Preston had their wedding ceremony at St. Benedict Catholic Church:
After, we conveniently walked right across the street to their reception at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Pauley Center.
Congratulations Allison and Preston. It was a pleasure working with you. 🙂
I’ve been waiting to post these photos from Allison’s bridals for a couple of months now! But, now with the wedding over, I can happily share some of her bridal portraits from the session. It was actually a pretty crazy day. The weather had been around 100 degrees, and about 30 minutes before our time together at Maymont, huge, dark clouds started to roll in. Oh no! It all worked out okay in the end, and I came out of it a little cooler thanks to Allison’s mom who gave me a cooling neck wrap. It was wonderful. 🙂

More to share soon from the wedding! 🙂
I love photographing weddings out on the Eastern Shore. The scenery and light is lovely, and the trip out there is even better when you work with a great couple like Amanda and Brad.
There were lots of fun little details, starting with these beauties:
Amanda and Brad decided to have a First Look before the ceremony, and I have to say it was especially charming because Brad had a playlist on his cell phone when Amanda approached him!Amanda wore her mother’s wedding veil…doesn’t she look gorgeous?Love this view.I love it when a couple schedules sunset photos into the day…I love how these turned out.Congratulations you two! I hope you are having a wonderful honeymoon in Italy. 🙂
When Denise and I were planning her engagement session, I learned the date we scheduled was also the same time that the Dinwiddie County Fair would be happening. What a fun idea, right? Well…just a couple hours before our scheduled session, a huge thunderstorm came rolling in…and we set up a time to meet a little earlier to start the session. But, by the time I got to the fair, they had shut down from the storm! It was a bit of a nail biter, wondering if the fair would open back up, especially since it was the last day.
Well, as you can see, it all worked out! The storm hung around for about 35 minutes and then the fair quickly opened back up to crazy awesome light and sky.
